overview

Took full ownership of the Finance internal tool at Gjirafa, driving it from a fragile, unstructured codebase into a maintainable, scalable application. Also contributed to WMS, DP, and RMS.

Architecture & Infrastructure

• +Migrated the entire app from ad-hoc data fetching to TanStack Query + Axios — introducing proper caching, loading states, background refetching, and consistent error handling
• +Restructured the codebase from a flat layout to a feature-based architecture, grouping components, hooks, services, and types by domain
• +This refactor made the app significantly easier to extend and reduced duplication across modules

Authentication

• +Diagnosed and fixed broken authentication flows — corrected token handling, protected route logic, and session persistence
• +Ensured role-based access was enforced consistently across all protected views

Features Built

• +Invoice management screens — listing tables with filters, invoice detail views, status tracking, and approval workflows
• +Financial report views for tracking transactions, summaries, and operational data
• +Forms for creating and editing financial records with full validation and API integration
• +Data tables across multiple modules with sorting, filtering, pagination, and detail drill-downs

Ongoing Maintenance

• +Primary maintainer — handled bug reports, investigated regressions, and kept the app stable under active use
• +Incrementally improved existing modules while delivering new features in parallel
